As part of its ongoing series of topical insights for members, Michael Barnett, CEO of the Auckland Chamber of Commerce, recently discussed with Rick Shera the legal aspects of social media for businesses.

It’s a discussion in two parts: In part 1 Michael and Rick discuss blogging and user generated content, terms and conditions and privacy policies, and internal social media policies and social media account ownership. In part 2, the discussion moves to use of social media for prospective employee checks, social media and personal branding, the Harmful Digital Communications Act, Fair Trading Act requirements, defamation and copyright.
