When you request our notarial services you should expect that:
- you will be required to verify your identity (usually presentation of an original passport and proof of address will be required).
- checks will be undertaken, as appropriate, to confirm that the document has been executed in accordance with the law by a person properly authorised to execute the document, and in the case of certification of copies, that a copy is a true copy of the original.
- you will be provided with the document which has been signed by the notary and sealed, together with an attestation, certificate or other assurance. In some cases, a bespoke form of certification will be required recording the particular circumstances which the notary has confirmed.
- in some cases it may be necessary to have the notary’s standing confirmed by the Department of Internal Affairs and sometimes a further confirmation is required from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
We maintain a register of notarial acts.
If you require notarial services then you should contact us in advance so that we can consider the nature of the documents you need notarised and confirm what is required for correct notarisation in your case.
The cost will depend on the number and complexity of the documents which require notarisation and whether a bespoke form of certification is necessary.
